Three Days With a Rotary Phone

I disconnected the smartphone and lived off a 1974 rotary set for a long weekend. Some notes on friction as a feature.

Dialing seven digits by hand takes about four seconds — long enough to reconsider the call twice. I didn't expect that pause to be the whole point, but by Saturday it was the only part I missed when I plugged the smartphone back in.
